This is one of the limited edition hand signed Duesenberg Johnny Depp Artist Signature guitars, it has sold. The Johnny Depp Signature will be limited to 52 pieces. Being one of the most in-demand actors of the past 25 years and best known for his character Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of Caribbean movies Duesenberg have designed an iconic guitar in his tradition by telling the story of Johnny's life from his tattoos: each one symbolizes a significant event in his life. The trapezoid JD-63 pickup is P90 style, but custom wound to Johnny's needs and was specially designed to meet every characteristic of a classic open sounding single coil. A small switch close to the volume pot (which is the only control on the guitar apart from the switch) allows you to do a coil tap to switch between full fat P90 sound and a more vintage Telly sound. The coil that you can take out of the signal actually has 1963 windings, which is Johnny’s year of birth. The guitar has traditional glued in one piece American maple neck with indian rosewood fretboard, 22 jumbo 2,7 x 1,0 mm frets, 12" radius, special fingerboard inlays. The scale length is 648mm (25,6"). The body of the guitar is made from American Alder combined with an American Ash top with cream binding and PUR lacquer. On the top there is an aluminum top plate in which there is an etched selection of his personal tattoos. The tattoos were photographed from Johnny's body and redrawn by an artist to have them then applied onto the aluminum top. The image that you can see on the back of the guitar is actually the tattoo Johnny has on his back. The guitar has Duesenberg wrap-around bridge and 6 strings through-body ferrules, all of its hardware are nickel. The guitar will come with a Duesenberg Custom Line case and some very special goodies.
